Accessibility

This accessibility statement applies to the website nordeafunds.com. The website is subject to the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires that digital services provided by a credit institution must be accessible.

This accessibility statement was published on 1 October 2025 and was last reviewed and updated on 17 June 2026, following a major accessibility update to the website.

The accessibility of this website is assessed through a combination of continuous and periodic methods. During development, automated accessibility test suites are used to catch issues early. Manual testing is conducted across devices and assistive technologies, including keyboard-only navigation and screen reader compatibility. In addition, the website is audited annually by an independent third-party auditor, Useit Consulting. Findings from the audit are reviewed, prioritised, and formally ratified before being assigned to development cycles.

Accessibility status of the digital service

This service is partially compliant with the accessibility requirements. The identified shortcomings are planned to be addressed by June 2027. The statement is updated following each significant release, and reviewed in full at least annually.

Non-accessible content

The website is not yet fully accessible in the following identified areas. The following content and/or functions do not yet meet the accessibility requirements:

Interactive object descriptions

Most interactive objects now have a text-based description of their purpose for assistive technology. A few objects still lack such a description — for example the play/pause control in the featured content slider, and some graphics inserted through the content editor. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 4.1.2 Name, role, value.

Keyboard navigation

Charts and their controls can now be operated using the keyboard. Column sorting in some tables, such as the fund breakdown tables, cannot yet be activated using keyboard navigation. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard.

Color contrast in text

A few types of text content have too low contrast to the background, especially on image backgrounds, and a few graphics and interactive elements have too low contrast to surrounding colors as well. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum).

Color contrast in graphics

Some chart graphs have a low contrast against the background. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 1.4.11 Non-text contrast.

Use of color

In charts, color is in some cases used as the only way to distinguish between data series. In forms, required fields and error states are now conveyed in ways that do not rely on color alone. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 1.4.1 Use of color.

Status messages for dynamic content

Some dynamic content, such as the spinner shown while content is loading and the updated result count after filtering, is not yet marked up in such a way that users of assistive technology are notified of the change. Status updates in the calculators and form messages are now announced correctly. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 4.1.3 Status messages.

Text alternatives for images

Some complex images, such as certain charts, do not in all cases present equivalent information in text form. The line chart now includes a text summary of its data, while an equivalent text alternative is still missing for the bar chart. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 1.1.1 Non-Text Content.

Content displayed with mouse hover

Content in charts, such as data tooltips, is displayed when the user hovers using a mouse but is not yet available using the keyboard. The page navigation bar can now be opened and operated with the keyboard as well as the mouse. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard.

Heading structure

The visual heading hierarchy is not always reflected in the code. In a few places, visual headings might not be marked up in a way, that they will be picked up as headings by a screen reader, and sometimes the visual hierarchy and the semantic hierarchy diverges. Empty headings might appear in the code in certain content types. We are working on fixing this, but as long as the headings are completely empty, they will be ignored by screen readers. This relates to the WCAG success criteria 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 2.4.6 Headings and Labels.

Tables

In a few tables, such as the fund breakdown tables, the table headers are not yet marked up correctly as such, which makes it more difficult to make sense of the table when using a screen reader. The fund performance and fund listing tables have been corrected. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.

Non-specific links

On some pages that contain lists of content, links can still have identical link texts that lead to different content. Many of these links have been made more specific, and the remaining listing pages are being reviewed. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 2.4.4 Link purpose (In Context).

Text on small devices

Content such as charts and tables from external websites and presented in iframes doesn’t reflow properly on small devices. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow.

Podcasts

Currently there is no transcript or text alternative for our podcasts. This relates to the WCAG success criterion 1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded).

Video content

Video content might lack subtitles, and in some cases also audio descriptions of the visual content in the video. This relates to the WCAG success criteria 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded), 1.2.4 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded) and 1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded).

PDF documents

We are currently in the process of making all PDF documents compliant with the accessibility requirements. The documents can contain images without alternative text, have missing tags so they don’t work correctly with screen readers, have incorrect reading order as well as unclear link text. Nordea is currently working on correcting these documents that are published on our website after 23 September 2018.

Content not within the scope of the applicable legislation

The applicable legislation (the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019)) does not apply to the following content, which may not be fully accessible:

• Office software files (for example doc, pdf and odt) published before 23 September 2018.
• Online content archived before 23 September 2019.
• Video or audio recordings released before 23 September 2020.
